Day 2 of 30 in our 2018 NaNoWriMo & November Poem-A-Day (NovPAD challenges.
MY NovPAD PAD prompt is inspired by the Day of the Dead. Perhaps I should have used it yesterday – but after October’s dark themes, I wanted something optimistic and affirming. But now it is Day 2 and I am offering “when the dead was the living”.
I might draw some inspiration from Disney’s Coco – and it’s message of memory.
Not sure yet who else is offering a PAD challenge this year – I will add them as I find them.
As for NaNoWriMo – I got side-tracked from writing, but life happens and I have to take care of life. But it was only Day 2; there are still 28 days left.
My NovPAD prompt yesterday was “the novel you wrote”. Here’s a draft of my poem from that prompt. (I shared the first stanza at Thursday’s Salem Poetry Project)
My Pinterest’ Ariel’s List of Poetry Prompts for Nov 2018 is here.

I identify myself as a Pacific Northwest poet. I have been writing poetry since 1976- and yes - I have been using the pen-name Ariel all this time! I can often be found writing in the Willamette Valley, in Pacific forests or along the Coastlines on Oregon.
