Sept 23, 2018 Poems for Peace Poetry Reading 2-4 pm Salem Library
In 2011, I participated in the Salem Peace Mosiac, a project that brought the creatives and the Salem community together to work with the artist, Lynn Takata, to create a Peace Mural – for the “City of Peace” – on the face of the Court Street YMCA building. This included poetry workshops which resulted in the Mosiac’s chapbook “Speaking Peace.”
YMCA is planning now to remove the aging buildings on their block to build safer facilities & apartments. The Save the Salem Peace Mosiac (composing many of us who worked on the original project) is striving to save and relocate the Salem Peace Mosiac – and has teamed up with Mid Vally Poets Society to offer this upcoming Speaking Peace Poets Reading as one of the fundraisers to accomplish this drive.
Join me as I again publicly read “Why I don’t Like Poetry”
