November 2016, 2016: Annual November Poem-A-Day (PAD) Challenges. Many internatioanl events. I will be doing Robert Brewer’s PAD Challenge on Writer’s Digest, as well as the Challenge of the Hart.

November 2016: NaNoWriMo/GloNoWriMo – National Novel Writing Month – NOW a world wide participation event from writers, professional & amateur; easch attemptig to finish a rough draft of a novel in only 30 days.  – This will be my fourth year participating, hooking up with a local chapter. It is very fun & our Willamette Valley Group often has a historical competetion with a Washington chapter on which group reaches the finishing line first! Yoou’ll be able to track my own progress here (Search me as “Poet Ariel”, it will narrrow down the search by a thousand or so …)! Those of us participating have already started our prep work and countdown …

May 14 2016: 2016 Paint The Town/Write The Town: Event 2 @ Mission Mill Museum & Willamette Heritage Center in Salem Oregon – painting & poeming

May 21 : 2016 Paint The Town/Write The Town: Event 3 @ Gaiety Hollow  in Salem Oregon – painting and poeming. What a magnificent location this was – both  house and gardens! I took over 300 pictures – I will be able to make several art pieces just from this one day! My plein air piece I started on was a pretty setting of irises and (my gardening skills are rusty) hostas(?) – lovely, lovely leaf combinations. I arrived at the start. Good thing, too – while the overcast sky was lovely to photograph and paint with, the rain hit after 3 hours. I so live in Oregon!
