Today – as one of the Twelve Days of Christmas – is Holy Innocents Day. And that is our prompt – “Holy Innocents”.
What holy Innocents (or innocence) will you write about? Who has God sacrificed that you may live? Who have you sacrificed?
Who have I sacrificed?
You know – as I muse on this theme – I’m rather leaning toward a political poem – what with Congress taking away our services for the vulnerable in order to give the very rich and the prosperous corporations more tax money. But that’s MY take on it. What’s yours?

I identify myself as a Pacific Northwest poet. I have been writing poetry since 1976- and yes - I have been using the pen-name Ariel all this time! I can often be found writing in the Willamette Valley, in Pacific forests or along the Coastlines on Oregon.
