Today is one of my favorite days – my “baby” sister’s birthday! And I’m missing her.
I remember this day the pictures was taken, a quick Easter picture before heading to church, reaching out towards mom’s pink and purple roses near the driveway. It was a mild spring day in San Jose, early morning,
Strange how photographs hold sounds and scents, emotions ... And wonderous.

It’s a week until April, National Poetry Month, and the start of many Poem-A-Day (PAD) challenges. The countdown has begun …
I will also be participating in the NaPoWriMo again this year; I’ve already submitted my site!
I’m going to start looking to see who else is offering events this upcoming month!

I identify myself as a Pacific Northwest poet. I have been writing poetry since 1976- and yes - I have been using the pen-name Ariel all this time! I can often be found writing in the Willamette Valley, in Pacific forests or along the Coastlines on Oregon.
