Day 19 of 30 in our 2018 NaNoWriMo & November Poem-A-Day (NovPAD) challenges. I know I’m posting late; walking around on two broken ankles really saps my energy. And when evening comes, instead of posting the next day’s prompts, I’m falling asleep wherever I am.  My apologies – this wasn’t what I intended. But I’m not giving up, not letting this defeat me. PLEASE don’t let it defeat you.

I’m sharing only one of today’s holidays today as I think it is a pretty important one. I am quite an outspoken feminist and post many things supporting women’s issues and decrying sexual violence, – so much that those who just see my posts may think I don’t like men.  But those lucky few who know me IRL  – or In Real Life – know I adore men- in general. I know many brag-worthy men; I grew up with older brothers, have had many lovers that I adored, had a caring husband for almost 20 years, have raised two sons, have worked alongside some great men, and half my platonic friends are male. So, of course, I’m going to celebrate International Men’s Day, For today’s prompt Nov 18, let’s go with “Man, oh man” as our prompt. <grin>

And tomorrow I’ll get back to tearing down the Patriarchy.

Over in the 2018 PAD Challenge for Day 19, Brewer challenges us to write a poem that uses at least 3 of the following 6 words: con, flush, oxymoron, pass, Nov 19 photo promptrub, toxic. Of course, ambitious poets will try to use all 6 words. (Why are you looking at me like that?) (Yeah, I’m doing all six.)

Day 18 for Poetry Potion’s Poem-A-Day Challenge again is switching things up for their prompt; today they offer this photo prompt. !!! right arow

NaPoWriMo prompt is simply “Just write. ” Word count wise – If you are about 30K words so far, you are right on target to finish Nov 30. If not – we have 12 days still left and 3 of them are a 4 day weekend; you’ve still got time.

Yep – I’m all about the prompts!

I don’t have a poem to share from yesterday; I spent it mostly in CC Willow mode.

The Annual Something Red Art Show is fast approaching and last night was the submission deadline. So CC had THREE new art pieces to still pour resin on and finish. And take Submission Photos of.  And did I mention the two broken ankles I am moving around on? And no pain meds left?

Yep – things went cattywampus on me about 9 – 10 am. I used the wrong resin on an alcohol-ink piece; wrong because the chemicals in it started to cause the alcohol ink to dissolve and weep.  Fortunately, I hadn’t poured it on the other two! I ended up spending most of the day trying to salvage it. I manipulated the unexpected flow, let it set, got the RIGHT resin at a nearby store and poured that. Cursing under my breath anytime I stepped the wrong way.

I still find this first piece beautiful (Can’t share them online until the jurying is done), though it has a different mood than what I planned – but I have learned a long time ago to not “force” a piece of art, to let it develop; the results are so much more aesthetically pleasing. So this has just become part of its genesis story.

Stick around on Dec 6th – I’ll reveal it here.
