Day 13 of National Poetry Writing Month … don’t you love the look of crocuses in the spring? Don’t you want to be them?
Continuing my SHE Project, Apr 13’s prompt is “She stands in the sun …”.
Looking for a sample to share today is difficult – mainly because I have a number that can shape into this prompt (seems that defiance is a theme in my feminist poems.) However, I think the best example is Bird on the Pavement. – One day there was this tiny dun bird sunning on a very busy highway …
(And some people don’t think I can write brief poems …)
Other Poem-A-Day (PAD) Challenges available this month:
I identify myself as a Pacific Northwest poet. I have been writing poetry since 1976- and yes - I have been using the pen-name Ariel all this time! I can often be found writing in the Willamette Valley, in Pacific forests or along the Coastlines on Oregon.
Let me know what you think ...
