Today is National Anisette Day Anisette is a licorice-flavored liqueur. – I think I’ll pass. But I can imagine what it might taste like, And it reminds me of chewing wild licorice plants at a park near my childhood home. So I may have it become a poem of those days.

I identify myself as a Pacific Northwest poet. I have been writing poetry since 1976- and yes - I have been using the pen-name Ariel all this time! I can often be found writing in the Willamette Valley, in Pacific forests or along the Coastlines on Oregon.
