Day 24 I am being SUCH a writer today … and by that I mean I am allowing every little thing to pull me away from writing – as writers tend to fall prey to. But can you blame me? The weather here in the Willamette Vally is practically flawless today. Flowers are blooming, bees humming, birds calling to one another. I even played in the dirt and got seedlings and seeds planted and my herbs & veggies placed.
And it’s easy to get distracted and pulled away = the gremlins are alive and active in my computer – so it’s either do something else to calm down every time something goes cattywampus …. or swear salty, pregnant obscenities. (which is the point I reached 15 minutes ago – my apologies to my house-mates!)
Prompt wise – we are nearing the end of Poetry (Writing) Month and I am making the end easy for us. Yesterday’s prompt was “Monday”. Today’s prompt is “write a Tuesday poem” ... you can probably see where this is going.
And here is what my contemporaries are also offering this month in regards to poetry writing challenges …
- Robert Lee Brewer’s Apr PAD challenge It’s another TwoFerTuesday over on RLB’s challege! (Twitter, search #AprPAD.)
- The official NaPoWriMo / GloPoWriMo Challenge. (Twitter, search #NaPoWriMo2018)
- The Poetry School NaPoWriMo challenge.
- WORDxWord 30/30 challenge on their blog.
- Moore School 30 Day Poetry Challenge – a list of prompts for National Poetry Month.
- Camp NaNoWriMo – for those wanting help starting another novel …
I have uploaded my Pinterest “Ariel’s List” for April if you want to use those.
Want to look up a past prompt? Maybe one of my past Pinterest “Ariel’s List”?
I’ve made it easy for you. You can find them in my archive on my Poetry Prompts page.

Quick “bizness” …Thursday afternoon is my next public reading where I will take the stage along with fellow Moments Before Midnight poets at Western Oregon University. It’s our official launch and Thursday night I will have 5 copies available on my Etsy site for purchase. Please note that all funds from MBM go towards ACLU to ensure the protection of our human rights. If you don’t make it – I have heard the MBM will be live-streamed or recorded (to be broadcast later).
Let me know what you think ...
